Course Overview
The Paralegal Certificate Programme is designed for students who are desirous of practicing as Paralegals and within the legal field, they will be provided with a broad-based introduction to the field of Paralegalism. Through the pursuit of this programme, students will become familiar with sources of legal authority, legal analysis and writing, as well as, the specific functions and duties of the Paralegal within the law office. Upon completion, students will have an understanding of the legal system, as well, as the proper role of the Paralegal within that system and in the law office.
IMPORTANT: All Paralegal students are expected to seek and complete a mandatory 80 Hours of Internship at the end of the programme at a Law Office, Legal Department, or Law Firm. An internship is mandatory for all Paralegal students and can begin any time within the 3rd Semester of the Programme. The internship will assist you in gaining practical knowledge of the legal profession and cementing the knowledge you would have gained throughout the programme.

For the completion of the application process, students will be required to submit the following documents to support their application, these documents can be scanned and uploaded to the application form or emailed to ile.lawunit@gmail.com.
Documents to be submitted are:
- Proof of Qualifications (CSEC / GCE results)OR a transcript if you already have a degree. The CSEC subjects must include Mathematics OR Principles of Accounts (POA), English A, and any other subject.
- Valid Photograph Identification (nationally issued which can be Driver's License, Passport, or Voters ID)
- Tax Registration Number (TRN)
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- One passport size photo
**A non-refundable registration fee of $5,000.00 is payable upon receipt of Letter of Acceptance confirmation.
