
About the Course
ILE’s Fundamentals of Governance and Corporate Secretarial Practice is a detailed but introductory level hands-on short Course specifically designed for existing and aspiring corporate secretarial personnel to familiarize them with the essential elements of governance and corporate secretarial practice based on prevailing company law, the PSOJ Corporate Governance Code and the GOJ Corporate Governance Code.
The course presents practical applications of concepts and methods in corporate governance providing participants with the tools, techniques, and resources needed to carry out governance and compliance service, and corporate secretarial services. The course is 6 weeks in duration and laced with principles designed to be relevant to the consummate board-level leader or company secretary professional who wishes to be an asset to business operations or compliance procedures.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong reading and listening skills. Possess three (3) CSEC subjects with the passing grade of 1, 2 or 3 OR three (3) GCE subjects with the passing grades of A, B or C. The subject areas must include Mathematics or Principles of Accounts (POA) and English A and any other subjects. An official transcript of your degree is also accepted.
MATURE ENTRY – two (2) CSEC or GCE passes & Proof of Corporate Governance work experience for at least three years in the form of a Recommendation or Job Letter.
*CSEC Principles of Business is an asset, though it is not a mandatory requirement.

For the completion of the application process, students will be required to submit the following documents to support their application, these documents can be scanned and emailed to certification_unit@ileja.org.
Documents to be submitted are:
- Proof of Qualifications (CSEC / GCE results)
- Valid Photograph Identification (nationally issued which can be Driver's License, Passport, or Voters ID)
- Tax Registration Number (TRN)
- One passport-size photo
**A non-refundable registration fee of $5,000.00 is payable upon receipt of confirmation.
